The Journey of Pagan Reconstruction

The Journey of Pagan Reconstruction

Who are you and what do you believe in?
Are you a Pagan, a Heathen, a Witch?
Are you grounded in a myriad of beliefs
mingled together from a plethora of
ancient religions, cultures, and histories?
Do you believe in a Universal Goddess,
Maiden, Mother, Crone?

What defines the road we walk
and the path we take
on the journey to Pagan Reconstruction?
What was Paganism before
that it must be reconstructed in the now,
in order for it to work in a modern
industrialized society such as ours?

Is it a interweaving of simple truths
taken from an ancient world
which relied on magic, ritual and deity,
instead of machine, industry and science?
And in this modern era,
are not these mingled truths, sought
by those strong enough to search
beyond what is blindly taught as faith,
incorporating science and technology
into its very web of consciousness,
in order to communicate and be heard,
to learn and expand one's understanding,
to teach and to share knowledge,
and to broaden the horizons of the mind
through community, words,
and varied beliefs and faith?

The reconstruction of paganism
in a modern day era,
is a wondrous flux from the past,
rewoven into a sustainable
belief system for today,
and an enriching journey into tomorrow.

And as you walk down that path,
a seeker of knowledge,
a student of truth,
an individual with the strength
to face and transverse
the road of dual realities,
you will find the truth within
and reach heights most can not imagine,
awakening your latent potential,
your higher self,
and find an enlightenment
which courses through human history,
and adapts with the times,
in order to bring balance and harmony
to the natural world of Mother Earth
and human technological world of tomorrow.

Author's Notes: Paganism is something, that upon being discovered, is a wonderous world of freedom never experienced by most. It opens doors to ideas and understanding that would have previously been unattainable due in part to religious restrictions, superstition, and stereotyping. Only here, within the confines of our community, are we encouraged to explore, question, and expand our understanding of the world around us and the unknown that lays beyond the veil of this reality. Anywhere else, these kinds of things would be discouraged and suppressed. Realize the wonderous miracle we have each been gifted with, through compromise, compassion, tolerance and the growth of understanding. It is a rare thing in this world, and only here, as we take the journey of Pagan Reconstruction do we discover the true possibilities of our latent potential and the true heights that this world can soar too. Imagine and it is possible.
