Spirit Revival

Spirit Revival

She stood in death and watched on, as the tea cup fell from

her lips. She could not fathom her sister's wrath upon her.

She shivered at the sight of her sister calling to the

family to come and view the now dead husk. She screamed out,

without word nor voice. But somewhere, she knew, she had

been heard, for in that second, she was swept away from the

sight of her sister's duplicitous mourning, and was whisked into

complete darkness, full of warmth and peace. A place where

thought did not exist, beyond her own comfort. And then, as

of a sudden, the darkness opened to harsh light and she was

dragged from her cocoon of warmth and safety. Pulled from

her haven, brought into the light, she was summarily

smacked on the behind. As she opened her mouth to cry out

she realized that she was now, nothing more and nothing

less than an new born infant. And so she proceeded to

scream loudly her shock and terror, while the doctors

smiled on and wrapped her into her new mother's arms. Laid

next to this woman's chest, hearing the thumping of her

heartbeat, she calmed and finally fell into a deep sleep.
